Sweet elves of Santa

Posted by Paige on Dec 19, 2009 in Memories |

A big thank you to all who had spent time working on wrapping the presents and muffins with me.

U guys are truly like the lovely elves at Santa’s workshop. Diligent and happy…. I am sure most of u felt achy after standing for so long and working straight for 3 hours. But I am also confident that although we all went home tired and sweaty, we know that it’s all worth it.

To the group who came on the 13th, it’s a shame I didn’t bring a camera to take pictures of u guys in action. I was also in a hurry to go to work. But we did an incredible job wrapping soft toys and making paper bags. It really saved the organizers a few nights of toil.

To the group who came on the 18th, I love the part when we formed 2 rows, moving chairs and tables, passing them from one to another. I really felt that was the time the ice between us melted and we worked as a team, united and effectively. The rest of the volunteers were amazed at how coordinated we are.

Thanks Joey for the coordination. The events would not have been so successful without u, collating the list and communicating with the group and myself.

Below is an overview of us at work yesterday. Here are the pictures…. Thanks Gin for these.

It was really a tiring day for me cos after the help-out at St Michael’s Church, I still went down to town to meet up my mum & sis for dinner.. After that we walked from Scotts to Centrepoint experiencing the x’mas mood and admiring those x’mas lightings & deco.. Reached home almost 12mn and dropped dead after bath.. haha..

No doubt the long day, I had really enjoyed myself and am glad to have know Paige and the rest of the 16 friends who were there on Fri. (we have started finding each other in FB already.. haha..) I am also honoured to be part of this event and yes, let’s have more of this in future.. We’ll sure feel happier to be able to help others in our routine gatherings.

Truly agreed with Paige, the part when we formed up the 2 rows to move those tables & chairs had really gotten us to break the ice between us (as we were still shy during the muffins packing.. hee..) Good to see the great coodination & teamwork in the grp and I did heard one of the volunteers commented : “So Fast?!?!” after we moved all the chairs from one end to the other.. hahaha…

Really a great accomplishment that day as we have done quite a number of tasks (pack muffins, moving of tables & chairs, tie up balloons and decoration the event area) in that short 3hrs time.. We should give ourselves (including Paige herself) 3 cheers for the great work done!

Not forgetting to thank Joey for the coordination, Gin for the photos & Paige for those yummy cookies.. (*_*)
