Sometimes when we touch

Posted by Paige on Jun 26, 2009 in General, Life

I am by no means a talented person. I’ve always envied naturally artistic persons who can effortlessly express the most intimate human emotions through their work. Tortured but free in their world, they connect with the rest of the world with their understanding and that straightforward perspective about life.

In an unplanned KTV session with my good friends earlier on, I chanced upon this song, which touched all of us present. Originally by Dan Hill, “Sometimes when we touch” is beautiful in lyrics and tune. It is so meticulous in the expression of an unsaid connection between 2 persons.

Love the line, “Sometimes when we touch. The honesty’s too much” The overwhelming sensation which seems to link 2 souls together, and the layers melt away and bares the most honest and vulnerable side to each other…

Enjoy…

Thanks for coming

Posted by Paige on Jun 24, 2009 in General

I held my first fans’ gathering. J, my organizer and I started thinking about it a few months back. I wanted to meet those who are interested to get to know me better after watching my shows. I wanted to thank them for liking my performances.

We had a simple but interactive and honest session. I love being questioned..haha. My egotistical self loves it when people are keen in my thoughts and opinions. On the other hand, I am always curious about what other people are thinking and what their opinions are. I think I achieved that at this dinner of ours. We shared our thoughts on local drama, and had a better understanding of each other.

Just a simple thank you for those who came… We shall meet again in 6 months’ time. And I wish that all of you would grow stronger in your individual ways. What doesn’t kill you will make u stronger and better…..so hang on, till we meet again 

On budget travels

Posted by Paige on Jun 22, 2009 in Life

Whenever I have the time and money, I will always seize the opportunity to travel. Alone that is…

Yes, I love hanging out with friends and I am not always the lone ranger. I enjoy company tremendously and there had been a time when traveling alone sounds really miserable, sad, and scary, especially for a single Asian female.

My first lone trip was made out of a romantic notion for a wanderer’s life. It has since proven to be addictive. An unfamiliar environment changes you especially when you are on your own. No history to cling onto. It makes you rethink about your existence. You refit into a new culture. Our adaptive nature kicks in.

I love going on budgeted, free and easy travel. It’s something u can and should try. The procedure is easy:
1. Pick somewhere near to start off.
2. Log on to a hostel booking website and pick the one with best reviews given.
3. Arm yourself with a guidebook and obtain information from the internet.
4. Log on to budget airlines websites and pick your flight.
Off u go!

The hostel offers great day trips and short overnight trips. The good ones are well established and provide a personal service.

There have been trips that had challenged my assumptions towards life. Alternate realities and choices became more apparent. “Every cloud has a silver lining” made more sense. Positive thought became a way of life.

Be interactive and friendly to locals and fellow travelers for a start. (But be careful of overzealous strangers). Thus overnight trips booked through the hostels are great ways to meet new international friends. Interaction provides new perspectives, understanding, and opens your mind to possibilities.

All in all, it’s a good break from the life you came from. It can also provide food for thought that might just clarify the murky areas in your life.

Be sensible and do not take unnecessary risks, and u should be fine.

Oh yes, just wanna share a few pics from my recent trip to Hanoi!
